Nicoletta Daríta de la Brown
Nicoletta Daríta de la Brown is a film/video artist, sculptor, and performance artist. She grew up in New York, NY and moved to MD to attended Baltimore School for the Arts. After graduation she returned to NY to attend School of Visual Arts (SVA). She is currently finishing her BFA as a Film student at Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA). Nicoletta was commissioned to create several interactive public art installation for the Baltimore Office of Promotion & the Arts and exhibits her works throughout the region, most recently at International Visions Gallery in D.C. and Baltimore’s School 33 Art Center. She is also the Founder of Art Antidote Project, which aids underserved youth in recovery from psychological trauma through therapeutic art projects.

Rescued from the gutter; blowing down the street like city tumbleweed. Nicoletta reclaims and elevates what once was discarded by creating embellished art objects. Growing up in Brooklyn and Harlem Nicoletta would visit her block’s bodega daily, with pennies in hand, and leave with priceless treasures. More than just bags, they reflect a sense of pride for her neighborhood and are a symbol of her cultural identity.
